City Sage Giveaway

This week City Sage is giving away a pair of Tory Burch Alexandra shoes from SimplySoles. I would love love these shoes, they instantly make anything look 10x better! Here is what a typical outfit would probably be...
Tory Burch shoes, J Crew belt, Boy by Band of Outsiders blazer and button up,
Genetic Denim Recessive, Swatch watch, Giles & Brother Skull posts, French Bun via Cup of Jo I think

SimplySoles has a pretty great selection of shoes, I also LOVE these Deborah Studded boots by Frye. They are just jazzy enough to be able to roam outside the farm, and would be sturdy enough in the melted snow sidewalks this winter.
Frye boots, Ray Ban Aviators, Cheap Monday Faded Black jeans, Slouchy beanie,
J Crew Cardigan, Juicy Couture Studs, Concert tee from chickdowntown.com

Loving it

I bought this back in August because I was looking for a lighter alternative to my trusty north face, which in my opinion was way to bulky for the days when I am just carrying a spiral to class. I absolutely love it! I will admit however that I was a little sad when I found out that J.Crew now carries it, but they don't have my color (rust)! Touche J. Crew!
Before I bought it I showed it to my brother, who did not approve (probably because I showed him the bag in the traffic sign yellow), obviously I bought it anyway. I went home this past weekend for thanksgiving and he liked it so much he tried to gank it from me! I might just have to get him one, probably in the forest green, you know because that is a man-ish color!

and yes I will most likely get it from J. Crew (insert apology). Now back to "studying"

Kate Spade Holiday 2009!

Every year around this time I get those gimme arms. You know the ones, where you instantly fall in love with something, instinctively reach out your arms and say "gimme, gimme, gimme." The reason why...

Craving

I go snowboarding fairly often, so naturally I started to tally up how much it sets me back each time I rent a sub-par seen better days board. If you only board a couple times a year or less renting is a good idea. However I go just enough to warrant a purchase of a snazzy new board of my own. I have no idea what all the technical mumbo jumbo means when trying to select the perfect board, but I do know what looks rad (yes I did just say rad). Enter Arbor Snowboards. The company uses "environmentally friendly natural materials to improve performance and style since 1995" how can you say no to that, you can't. I really don't like most snowboards because they are 99% of the time covered in cartoons or grafitti, not really my style. But everytime I see these simple wood grain designs on the Arbor boards its all the proff I need to know that I must get my hands on one!

The Brothers Bloom

Last night the whole family went to the Texas Public Radio movie night. My dad so nicely stated that the chosen movie was probably to artsy for me, so I probably should see something else. Luckily my little brother is also not as artsy as my sister, so we decided to see another not as artsy movie. Kyle chose the movie, The Brothers Bloom. Apparently I have been living under a rock and hadn't heard of it, but he swore it would be a great movie. Let me tell ya, he wasn't lying, not one bit!

The plot was great, and kept me on my feet the whole time. It was witty and seemed completely original, but remember this is coming from someone who is hardly artsy so this plot might be completely overchurned in the cinema world. The wardrobe was absolutely amazing, and so were the sets and photography. Each of the actors does an amazing job, Rachel Weisz is as always complete perfection. There is a line in the beginning of movie said by Adrien Brody's character Bloom which says something like the only reason the ladies like him is because of the characters that are created for him by the stories are written in a way that made them think they love him. Even though I just said the actors all did a great job I def think the ladies were rep-ing in the film, basically the dudes got owned! ANYWAY thats enough of my terrible stab at movie critiquing, GO SEE BROTHERS BLOOM!

And my favorite photo of them all.....

Curtains!

SO I am back in San Antonio for the summer with the parents. I decided to take an internship over summer school, which was kinda brazen because it was either a summer filled with school but living by myself or summer filled with work and living with the whole family. So I decided to go with the paying gig! wooo.

Ok so since I am home I decided to fix my room. Basically my room now holds a tv that is isolated, so naturally everyone flocks there for some peace and quiet and my bathroom which my 18 year old sister has now taken over. The last time I was home I decided the pink stripe and multicolored flower curtains that my mom made for my sister and I when we shared the room were sooo over and I ripped them off. Since then someone (dad) decided that a classy white sheet would suffice as a replacement, perfect since my room is in the front of the house where everyone that drives by can see the lovely sheet. So now project curtains ensues. I don't want busy curtains, mainly because my bedspread is already every color under the sun. So here is the inspiration .......

I am going to have the canvas colored foundation just like the picture, but I think for the trim I will use any two color combination fabric...I will post pictures of the end result

light at the end of the tunnel

I am so incredibly pumped! I only have two more finals, both on tuesday. So by 1pm t tuesday (cinco de mayo) I will be knee deep in pink panty pulldowns (orange juice, vodka, and pink lemonade), chimy's ritas, beer, vodka tonics....... you get the idea.

Since I am almost done, and have already been studying two weeks straight, I decided to do some web shopping/browsing! And found my absolute fav new dress/summer staple from Sophomore. I also love the ruching at the back, its a nice casual but fancy unexpected touch. Just perfection, also love the styling.

sneaker head

No matter how much I try to become a girl, fashion-wise, I always managed to get sucked back into tomboy territory by some fly sneakers. Case and point....via finishline (only 7.5 left for you lucky few)

Loving the animal print/cracked paint silver and grey throughout the shoe and the awesome tiffany-esque blue! these could help in my girly transition for sure!!

I found this aweseme hybrids of boat shoes and sneaker over at joshspear.com and am absolutely smitten. These are some of the sharpest kicks I have seen in a while. Unfortunately they aren't available for purchase yet, and no word on when they will be released, ugh! I absolutely NEED these in grey!!

celebrate the trees!

So today in honor of arbor day im posting on my absolute fav thing when it comes to trees.....TREEHOUSES!!!
Growing up my dad and my uncle made a treehouse in the back yard for all my friends and me. The neighborhood gang and I then preceeded to make at least two more treehouses after in the woods that are behind mi casa.
Sorry that this isn't the most eco-friendly post, I just can't
help it! Treehouses are da bomb! (whoa bringing back the 90's)
