sneaker head

No matter how much I try to become a girl, fashion-wise, I always managed to get sucked back into tomboy territory by some fly sneakers. Case and point....via finishline (only 7.5 left for you lucky few)

Loving the animal print/cracked paint silver and grey throughout the shoe and the awesome tiffany-esque blue! these could help in my girly transition for sure!!

I found this aweseme hybrids of boat shoes and sneaker over at joshspear.com and am absolutely smitten. These are some of the sharpest kicks I have seen in a while. Unfortunately they aren't available for purchase yet, and no word on when they will be released, ugh! I absolutely NEED these in grey!!

celebrate the trees!

So today in honor of arbor day im posting on my absolute fav thing when it comes to trees.....TREEHOUSES!!!
Growing up my dad and my uncle made a treehouse in the back yard for all my friends and me. The neighborhood gang and I then preceeded to make at least two more treehouses after in the woods that are behind mi casa.
Sorry that this isn't the most eco-friendly post, I just can't
help it! Treehouses are da bomb! (whoa bringing back the 90's)

"The Power is Yours"

In honor of earth day, I just wanted to remind everyone a la captain planet that with "your powers combined" we can all save the planet, even if you don't have completely enviable powers like the capitan.

I decided to swear off all vehicles today, including my beloved public transit, the trolley (more on that later!). So while I walk it out, don't forget to pay your dues as well!

"The boy himself is at once too simple and too complex for us to make any final comment about him or his story. Perhaps the safest thing we can say about him is that he was born in the world not just strongly attracted to beauty but, almost, hopelessly impaled on it." -j.d.salinger

i've read catcher in the rye at least 8 times and everytime i find something new to love about it.

Highlighter Pink

For those who know me, they know pink is not my thing, AT ALL!! So when I went home this past weekend and I was telling my beloved brother and sister about my new obsession, they were shocked to say the least. But for someone who is a little to dependent on all neutrals all the time, shockingly bright pink is a nice change of pace.

just one piece could shock a drab outfit out of its coma!

Its all swiss to me

I recently came across the most b.a. pack ever!! Its from Sweden so naturally its simple in design, durable, and made to meet all your backpack needs perfectly. The only decision to make now is what color. I currently carry a tan/cream north face, I love the neutral color but I'm thinking it would be nice to mix it up a little.

So here are my current favs:

You can never go wrong with anything red with a hint of orange

a nice neutral matches everything, but I've never really been one to care about being matchy-matchy

There are a total of 14 colors to choose from, too many choices!!

ch-ch-check it out!

I stumbled upon this last thursday, and have yet to turn it off since. It is a one man show, an engineer (which only deepens my love) turned music masterpiece conductor.

stage name: Girl Talk

album title: feed the animals

music type: the best of everything on your ipod, awesomely mashed together

for more on him check out his website, or just do what everyone else does and wikipedia this stuff.

bonus: you can download a copy of the cd at this site, donations are encouraged and why not endorse something that will have you unconsciously bobbing your head like there is no tomorrow

the point is...

I make lists. They are EVERYWHERE.
No matter what I do they end up everywhere, there is no rhyme or reason to the madness, I find them everywhere. Usually I end up using flashcards, because being an engineering student I always have them handy. Unfortunately the lists have extended to all my electronics so I have tons of folders on my laptop and the memo application is completely full.

A friend of mine bought me a list book in an effort to contain the tornado like trail of lists around my apartment and car, it didn't work. The problem is that the list book wasn't attached to me 24/7.

Which brings me to the point, I have finally figured out what I want to do with this blog. This will essentially be a mega list, so that I can have some organization to the madness...

ps. I feel like I said madness about eight-thousand times
